Creative Edge Regional Final

Primary School Monday, 05 Sept 2022

On Saturday 27 August, two teams of Years 5 and 6 students represented Frederick Irwin Anglican School for the West Australian Regional Creative Edge Thinking Challenge, at Curtin University.

The Challenge required teams to respond to a thought-provoking question, devise a script and perform a fully memorised ten-minute dramatic presentation, complete with costumes and props. Teams had five weeks to prepare and all tasks were completed without outside assistance.

All costumes and props had to be made from a select list of materials such as newspaper, cardboard, paint and tape, which encouraged the students to really think outside the box and get creative with their items!

Teams also participated in the Impromptu Challenge. An unseen question was given and teams were judged on their ability to collaborate and generate the most creative answer.

Both teams displayed incredible work ethic throughout the process in the lead-up to the competition and should be proud of their efforts. The results will be posted on 10 September and hopefully we will be lucky enough to compete at the State Finals on 17 September. Well done to everyone who took part!
