Cubing Club in Primary

Primary School Wednesday, 31 July 2024

This Term, the Meadow Springs Campus has started a Cubing Club.

Students from Years 3 to 6 are invited to meet every Friday during lunchtime to join the fun. Everyone is welcome from beginners who have never had a go at solving a Rubik’s cube to those who bring their own puzzles.

Each week, we have small groups form where students share their knowledge or learn to solve a new cube. Mrs Smith brings a range of cubes, from 3x3, pyraminx, skewbs, 2x2, square ones and some novelty cubes.

Speedcubing is very popular in Western Australia, with competitions held 2-3 times each month in locations around the State. Perth is hosting the Oceanics Championships at the Perth Convention Centre this December, with the current world record holder Yiheng Wang travelling from China to compete.

Our Friday Cubing Club regular, Darryn has already taken up the opportunity to compete in local competitions.

If cubing is something you would like to master, come and join us on Fridays in the 2M1 classroom!

Kind regards
