Head of Primary - Halls Head (Issue 10, 2023)

Newsletter - Executive Monday, 31 July 2023

Dear Parents and Carers

We have had a great start to Term 3! I feel privileged to be the new Head of Primary of the Fredrick Irwin Anglican School Halls Head campus and I am excited about the semester ahead. It has been wonderful welcoming many new students to our School community this term, with every class from Pre-Primary to Year 6 having at least one new student. I want to thank our amazing staff for their support and dedication in preparing engaging programmes and inviting classroom environments.

We had a fantastic NAIDOC Assembly last Friday, led by our Year 6 student leaders. We were honoured to have Mr Mark Collard, who is a member of our School Community, attend our assembly and speak about the 2023 NAIDOC theme “For Our Elders” and what it means to him.

Captain Compassion also made an appearance at our Assembly to speak about how important it is to show compassion and understanding in all we do. This week, as part of our Service Learning programme, and to put our Core Value of Compassion into practice, our House Captains spoke with all classes about our annual collection of non-perishable food items as part of Homelessness Week.

Kind regards and best wishes
Sue Kirke
