Dear Parents and Carers

It is hard to believe we are already in Week 7 of Term 3! With the many exciting events and activities students have been involved in, we are certainly demonstrating our engagement with the Act, Belong Commit mentally healthy schools program https://www.actbelongcommit.org.au/programs-initiatives/mentally-healthy-schools/

In Week 5, our Year 5 students thoroughly enjoyed the excursion to see the Wizard of Oz performance at the School’s Oakmont Theatre. This was followed by the fantastic Combined House Day, which was filled with such as sense of fun and House Spirit; the Year 4s from both Primary campuses then visited the School Library at the Secondary campus for an inspirational author visit from Gabrielle Wang, Australian Children’s Laureate for 2022-2023 https://gabriellewang.com/

Again, what an amazing opportunity for our students! We were also blessed with beautiful weather for our wonderful K-6 Inter-House Athletics Carnival. A huge thank you to our Physical Education teacher, Letitia Fazzolari, and all of the staff and parent helpers involved in making this day such a success.

Thank you to our dedicated staff for their outstanding pastoral care in ensuring that all students feel safe and included in all of the programmes and opportunities we offer. Last week, we celebrated Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week. Education Assistants play a vital role in fostering a positive learning environment, and we sincerely thank them for their care and compassion for our students and dedication and flexibility in their many roles.

Congratulations to our students for their conduct and engagement with the many events and learning opportunities they have been involved in. It is heart-warming to see so many examples of our Core Values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Compassion, Courage, and Inclusion displayed every day.

With kind regards and best wishes
Sue Kirke
