Dear Parents and Carers

And just like that, we find ourselves in Term 3 and lots in store. Student Council trip to Parliament, Hackathon, House Carnival and so much more!

I have been working with a group of students who are passionate enough to write a speech. This is framed by The Rotary who challenge students to speak to truth, fairness, goodwill and friendship. Many students worked through their holidays on this and will be giving their speeches soon. We wish them all the best!

I too work with a group of students who are committed to community improvements. Using design thinking through a framework called Design for Change we are following our hearts and passions to consider what our school needs. We are empathising with our peers, our environment and our staff using a variety of tool, including empathy maps. We have chosen to focus on our school grounds this Semester, using the four step process of Feel Imagine Do Share. I look forward to sharing more at an upcoming assembly. To work with students with so much heart for others is so rewarding.

And finally, another group of students I am supporting are in Year 6, committed to meeting the needs of others, during lunch. This group are called Friends of the Playground. This year we have run two training session and now use our students to teach other students. I am including a picture of this below. It’s truly rewarding to see students stepping up, making a real difference.

Kind regards
