Junior Councillors Morning Tea

School News Wednesday, 15 May 2024

Principal Mrs Tracey Gray welcomed our four Junior Councillors and their family members to a Morning Tea celebrating the great work these students have done so far this year with the City of Mandurah.

In attendance was Mayor Rhys Williams, Deputy Mayor Caroline Knight, and Executive Manager Community Services at City of Mandurah, Tim Hartland.

2024 has been a special year for our Junior Councillors as we have, for the first time, Jimmy Wong and Caden Meyers were elected 2024 Junior Mayor and Junior Deputy Junior Mayor. It is very rare for both the Junior Mayor and Deputy Mayor to be elected from the same school. Well done as well to Molly Learmonth and Ella Pini who are members of the Junior Council as well this year.

Mayor Rhys Williams said it was a real credit to the School culture, and was encouraging of the connection to the local community that he has seen grow at Frederick Irwin in the last couple of years.
