National Sports Climbing Competition
Congratulations to Dylan Bailey (Year 9), Bastion Finkel (Year 8) and James Mouton (Year 10) who recently competed in the National Sports Climbing Competition in Queensland, which spanned two training days and four competition days. These students are all squad members of Mandurah Indoor Rockclimbing.
The climbers competed against top-level athletes from New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania.
Additionally, beyond the climbing aspect, this competition provided valuable lessons in time management, discipline, resilience, social skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to James Mouton who was selected (if you podium 1st) for the Youth National Team - Youth World Championship in Guiyang China in August 2024. Congratulations also to Bastion who received a special consideration invite for the Youth National Team. Despite it being Dylan's first time competing at this level, he achieved an Australian rank of 10th for Lead climbing and 13th for Bouldering - an amazing achievement!
Bastion and James have also have been offered a PRAS (Peel Region Academy of Sports) Scholarship 2024/2025 - well done!
