Opening Night Event for our 2023 Illuminate Art Exhibition
The Kwobadiny Sports Centre hosted the Year 7 to Year 12 Practical and Creative Arts student’s artwork and functional pieces on Monday 16 October 2023, to over 250 Arts family members, students, staff and special guests for our very special Opening Night event.
With pieces including ceramics, mandalas, woodwork cars, lino, acrylic prints, drawings, paintings, dress designs, sculptures plus much more, our inaugural Art Exhibition was a wonderful display of the creative, artistic and imaginative skills of our students.
Mrs Tracey Gray, Principal, and Mr Rod Silvey, Head of Department, addressed and thanked the students and their families for all their enthusiasm and creativity during 2023, before welcoming Class of 2010 Alumni, Caris Letchford to address the crowd. Caris was a Visual Arts student when she went to Frederick Irwin, and it was wonderful to hear some words of wisdom about her journey, and potential students’ journeys, and how Art has influenced her own business, Vibe Design Studio.
Thank you to our wonderful families who attended, and congratulations to all our Award winners! We will be posting images of the pieces that won awards later this week.
Thank you to our wonderful Practical and Creative Arts staff who made this night one to remember, and also to Mrs Donna Stiles and her family members who created the amazing grazing table on the evening.
Thank you to our award sponsors: Art Basics, Zart Art, The Potters Market, Terrace Art Framers and Vibe Design Studio.
The exhibition closes this Friday at 12noon – make sure you come along to view the pieces. They are spectacular!
