Year 6 Camp

Primary School Wednesday, 28 Sept 2022

DAY 1

Day 1 was a busy day of travel, with the bus stopping at Williams and Kojonup!

After arriving at camp, the students were welcomed by the camp staff and tucked into some delicious afternoon tea.

The students then excitedly set up their dorms. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their first dinner, with an even tastier dessert.

Before settling down for the night, the students competed in a fun quiz, challenging their general knowledge - congratulations to Mr Butcher's group who came out on top!

We can't wait to hear more as they begin their camp adventures!

DAY 2

Today the students experienced true Albany weather, raining one minute and sunshine the next.

That didn't stop everyone from making the most of the day, participating in all of their day activities. The students ventured off the campsite, visiting various popular hot spots in Albany, one being St John's Church where they were told about its rich history from Reverend Karen.

They finished the day busting some moves at the disco night. All students and staff are well and truly tuckered out!

DAY 3 AND 4

On Wednesday, the students enjoyed a fully cooked breakfast to start the day. Each group ventured out for their activities with patches of light rain, wind but mostly sunshine!

Students continued with tours offsite which they thoroughly enjoyed. We also had other groups stay here at camp, some taking part in the Braille Trail. Here the groups are expected to work together through an obstacle course, blindfolded and relying on their other senses and communication with each other.

To end the day, we tucked into a hearty dinner and watched a film together.

Thursday saw the Year 6s (and staff) pushed to finish the last of their activities on Thursday.
However, the highlight of the day was most certainly our talent show. We were treated with a song from Mrs. Cadwell, followed by students who sang, danced and even presented magic tricks.

It was a night full of laughter and sing-a-longs which made the final night of camp one to remember!
